Grolier's Child Development program

The vocabulary series (Disney Words) and Information series (I Wonder Why) are for the parents. How do you expect a child in the womb to read a book but at the same time, the child in the womb can be impacted by your reading. As you spend time in reading and understanding the contents of the book, you, unknowingly, are sowing the seeds in the unborn child, of passion for books.

You can get benefit out of the Disney Words (DW) only if you believe in the absolute importance of vocabulary in the wholesome personality of a person. They are for you to improve and work on your own vocabulary.

How good is your vocabulary? What have you done to improve your own vocabulary? What is your plan to improve the vocabulary of your child? what are you doing to improve your own vocabulary?

DW is a resource in your hands. A resource if not used becomes waste, rubble. Use it.

Regarding the 'I Wonder Why' series, it is to stimulate your own brains as well as the brain of your child. When a baby in the cradle is given a toy, it holds it and it goes straight into it's mouth. That is how they explore the world. Through touch, taste and smell. If they are naturally inquisitive, why not utilize this natural curiosity to stimulate their brain, impart learning.

Do you have a learning aptitude? This may well be reflected in the interest you show in reading the 'I Wonder Why' books.

Is it so hard to read few lines to your child each day from 'I Wonder Why' series? How do you plan to inculcate scientific aptitude in your child? Is it too hard to do that for your child?
