I have a friend who insists on committing suicide
following in the footsteps of Nirvana’s lead singer, Kurt Cobain, being his
fan. My repeated pleadings to restrain him, from entertaining such thoughts and
contemplating such actions, fell flat. After a while, in a rare display of
wisdom, I suggested him if he really wants to follow Kurt why not make music
like he did. Guess what! I never heard Kurt’s name from his lips. Even if he
had all eternity he couldn’t write even a single note. It’s impossible.
It is easy to be religious, go to church, play music in church, read Bible, give alms, do good, chant mantras, pray five times, do rituals, follow traditions, visit Sai temple, Shirdi, Vaishno Devi, or Mecca, and talk God yet it’s impossible to confront sin, holiness, truth and Jesus. Hypocrites!
